As a nurse and a mum, I’ve come to see first aid not just as a set of emergency skills, but as a quiet form of love and responsibility. In a nursery full of curious little explorers, bumps and falls are part of the adventure. But knowing how to respond—calmly, confidently, and correctly—can turn a scary moment into a safe one.
That’s why every member of our team is certified in paediatric first aid. It’s more than just a requirement for us—it’s a promise. A promise to be prepared. A promise to keep calm under pressure. A promise to offer care with confidence when it matters most.
But as much as first aid is powerful, it must also be used with care. Certain techniques—like CPR or responding to choking—should only be used when we are fully trained and sure of what we’re doing. Inexperienced hands, even with the best intentions, can sometimes cause more harm than good. That’s why proper, certified training is so important—so that when the time comes, we act not out of panic, but with knowledge, skill, and calm.
For me, there’s great comfort in knowing that every educator at Little Champions is trained, equipped, and ready. It’s not just about safety—it’s about creating a space where both children and parents feel deeply cared for.
Because when children feel safe, they grow. And when parents feel safe, they trust.
